About the Camp:
The Michiana Lineman’s Camp is a commuter day camp offered to offensive and defensive linemen entering grades 9-12 in the northwest Indiana and southwest Michigan areas. It is strictly a technique camp focusing on the fundamentals of offensive and defensive line play. On offense, campers will be instructed on both run blocking and pass blocking techniques. Defensively, campers will be taught to defeat the many different forms of run blocks and pass rush techniques. Although much time will be spent on mastering these techniques, competitions will take place daily involving the offensive and defensive linemen in age and skill level appropriate match-ups.
About the Director:
Bob James enters his sixth season as the offensive line coach for the LaPorte Slicers and his 19th overall in high school football. Of his 18 years of coaching high school football, Coach James has spent eight of them coaching offensive linemen. During that time he has produced four all-conference performers, four all-state performers, and has sent seven offensive linemen on to play college football.
About the Staff:
Along with Coach James, several area high school head coaches and offensive and defensive line coaches will help instruct the camp participants. Chris Manering, the defensive line coach at LaPorte High School will be the leader of the defensive line staff. Current college linemen will also make daily appearances to offer their knowledge of offensive and defensive line play as well as their words of encouragement.
